Joe Gowan Was the WESTERN REGIONAL OPERATIONS COODINATOR-MANAGER,For Level Propane in New Mexico. The day after the involuntary bankruptcy was filed in June, 2002, he was instructed to call into a national conference call concerning the company. He called in as instructed, and John Verbos spoke. Mr. Verbos instructed all of the employees on the conference call that under no circumstances were they to communicate with Bill Maloof. Any employee found to have communicated with Bill Maloof would be immediately dismissed.
In July, 2003, Mr. Gowan heard that a shredding truck came to the Westlake headquarters of Level. Not a single paper record remained the following day.
Since the bankruptcy, Mr. Gowan has seen customer tanks given away to former Level customers by the new owners, only to be later reclaimed.
